TBIL
0-1 day: 1.4-8.7 mg/dL
1-2 days: 3.4-11.5 mg/dL

Cautions

Total and direct bilirubin results are falsely decreased in the presence of hemolysis. In some cases of monoclonal gammopathies (especially Waldenstrom's macroglobulinemia with very high concentrations of IgM), total and direct bilirubin results may be unreliable. Total and direct bilirubin results may be falsely low in the presence of high concentrations of N-acetyl-p-benzoquinone imine (metabolite of Acetaminophen).

Method Description

DBIL

Photometric with diazonium salt, 3,5-dichloroaniline (DPD).

TBIL
