Negative
Interpretation
Negative: No IgG or complement detected on the surface of the red cell.
Positive: IgG and/or complement detected on the surface of the red cell.
Monospecific direct antiglobulin testing will be performed.
Cautions
Autoimmune hemolytic anemia can occur with a negative direct antiglobulin test.
The direct antiglobulin test can be positive in some apparently healthy individuals.
