Test Code IMM170 Hypersensitivity Pneumonitis IgG Abs
Clinical Information
Hypersensitivity Pneumonitis (an inflammatory lung disease) may be supported by detection of precipitating antibodies to a variety of inhaled antigens associated primarily with molds, bacteria and birds. A positive test doesn't always indicate active disease and a diagnosis should be supported by historical & clinical evidence, since health individuals occasionally might develop precipitins. A negative test doesn't preclude a diagnosis of hypersensitivity pneumonitis and should be considered in the context of other lab results and clinical findings.
