Cautions

Falsely low amylase results may occur in patients treated with Eltrombopag.

Falsely low lipase results may occur in patients treated with N-Acetyl Cysteine (NAC) or N-acetyl-p-benzoquinone imine. Venipuncture immediately following or during administration of Metamizole (Dipyrone) may cause falsely low lipase results. Blood samples for lipase measurement should be drawn before Metamizole administration. In some cases, gammopathies, especially involving IgM, may cause unreliable lipase measurements. Falsely elevated lipase results may occur following intravenous or subcutaneous administration of heparin.
