Cautions

Falsely low uric acid results may occur in patients treated with N-Acetyl Cysteine (NAC) or N-acetyl-p-benzoquinone imine. Venipuncture immediately following or during administration of Metamizole (Dipyrone) may cause falsely low uric acid results. Blood samples for uric acid measurement should be drawn before Metamizole administration. In some cases, gammopathies, especially involving IgM, may cause unreliable uric acid measurements.
