Specimen Collection Information
Specimens should be collected using a 21 g needle and hand-walked down to the lab. Do NOT spin, separate, or freeze the samples. Note: Outreach samples should be received in the laboratory within 2 hours of collection and testing complete within 4 hours. Notify lab at 293-8332 BEFORE transporting specimens.

Platelet counts less than 119K or more than 502K, and Hematocrit values less than 33% or greater than 52% can interfere with testing and valid results may not be obtained.
Method Description
Instrument PFA-100 closure time: the time measured from the start of the test until a platelet to close aperture after exposure to agonist.
