Interpretation

Isolation of anaerobes in significant numbers from well-collected specimens indicates infection with the identified organisms.

Cautions

Use of pediatric bottles on adult patients may compromise the ability to recover micro-organisms. The pediatric bottles will not support the growth of anaerobic organisms.
