Interpretation
This test was performed using a real-time PCR assay. Results should be interpreted in conjunction with other clinical and laboratory findings.
Method Description
Concentration in LIM broth for > 18 hours followed by real-time polymerase chain reaction (PCR) testing for Group B Streptococcus (GBS) DNA sequence.

For E-swab specimens, this test was developed and its performance characteristics determined by the Clinical Microbiology Laboratory at The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center. It has not been cleared or approved by the FDA. The laboratory is regulated under CLIA as qualified to perform high-complexity testing. This test is used for clinical purposes.
