Test Code XCIGG4 IgG4 (Immunoglobulin G Subclass 4)
Clinical Information
IgG4-related disease is a systemic inflammatory condition of unknown etiology, most commonly affecting middle-aged and older men. It can involve multiple organ systems, including IgG4-related interstitial pneumonitis and IgG4-related tubulointerstitial nephritis. Elevated serum IgG4 concentrations are observed in at least 50% of patients diagnosed with this disease.Diagnosis may require a tissue biopsy of the affected organ, demonstrating characteristic histological features. Please note: an elevated IgG4 concentration is associated with IgG4-related disease, however, it is not used for a definitive diagnosis.
